New owner and new name for L Person & Son
15th May 2014
At the beginning of April Robert Haylock became the owner of the long established family engineering company of L Person & Son.
L Person & Son moved from London to a purpose built factory unit in Hollands Road Haverhill in 1963. It was some years later in 1987 that Mr Person used his engineering expertise to design and manufacture the Rotunda patient transfer aid which was to become such a key part of the company's offer.
After Mr Person passed away in 2012 his wife continued to run the factory and oversee the production of the Rotunda. In 2013 Mrs Person retired and Robert took over. Robert had been a regular customer for many years through his precision engineering machining company - MachinePart Engineering.
The original team, the majority of whom had been with L Person & Son for many years, have been retained to work in the new company.
Robert decided to change the name L. Person to Enable Aid to reflect the change in ownership and to create a clearer connection with potential customers for the Rotunda patient transfer aid. The Rotunda enables people with limited movement to transfer from a sitting to a standing position more easily and with greater dignity.
